Okay, so on Youtube, I was looking around in PVs for DMMd and found almost everyone was either hating on Mink or don’t even acknowledge him.  I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF THIS!! 

So I wrote a LOT of comment trying to defend him, but no, I am now going to dedicate this WHOLE tumblr post to transform DMMd fandom’s idea of Mink. 


First, let me tell you MY INTERPRETATION of Mink’s Route
(taken from my response to a Mink-Hater on Youtube)

Well, it is true that mink was violent, but the reason why, if you were to notice from the subtle hints, is very much complex and in some aspect understandable.

Mink is very religious, and probably believed that killing or act of violence was a sin. So that’s why he had decided he would kill himself after he got rid of Toue, to meet god, and confront his sin. Aoba HAS and IS power to destroy and kill but he was also vibrant and colourful. It confused him to his core. And because he was confused, Mink wanted reassurance that the path he was taking was right. So he beat Aoba to drag his inner “destruction” out so he could think of him as “evil” or “dark”.

As Mink gets to know Aoba more and more and especially when they are cooperating inside the oval tower to fight Toue, he realizes that he was wrong, especially when he was saved from the power meant to “destroy”.

Ever since his tribe was massacred he was alone, refusing to accept anything…then Mink’s life, which was only to avenge his tribe, was invaded by Aoba. The vibrant being who freed him of things which held him back emotionally. Since it is quite natural for one to feel strong emotions toward a person who impacted him so much, he wanted to live some more because of Aoba. But, since Mink knew well the value of life, he didn’t want to burden Aoba with such responsibility and ran away.

And when Aoba found him,
he respected Aoba’s opinion and stayed with him.


Okay, now we’ve got the back story.  Do you appreciate this subtle yet very beautifully laid out story and MINK yet?  Well, if you don’t, well read on. 

list of other reasons why you should love MINK

• his route is artisticㅡ the best ending I’ve played so far in a BL game
• character development during the story
• his lovably toned muscles
• how he looks manly with pink
• he makes dreadlocks bearable
• he is AN ADULTㅡ a mature man I tell you
• VERY caring, even though he doesn’t show it often
           ex. the scene where he touches Aoba’s hair softly
• his motorcycle skills
• his parrot allmate is amusing as fuck
           ex. Aoba: what’s your name?
                parrot: why do you want to know that?
                Aoba: So I know what to call you! 
                          This little guy’s name is Ren! 
               parrot: I don’t have a name
               Aoba: What does Mink call you? 
               parrot:  ‘hey’, ‘you’, ‘bird’. 
• his gang members are so loyal to him, this leads to Mink being an awesome, caring, responsible leader. 
• he’s so boss doing ANYTHING 

Here.  Now look at him.

Do you appreciate his existence yet?
